The Minnesota Twins head to Kauffman Stadium to take the field with the Kansas City Royals.

The Twins did their damage on nine hits and four walks with Max Kepler going solo while Robbie Grossman went 3-3 with a run. Rookie Jose Berrios is scheduled to be on the hill in the series opener at Kansas City. Berrios has made 12 starts and has fashioned a 2-7 record with a 1.99 WHIP and 8.88 ERA.

Even though there will be no postseason for the Kansas City Royals they are still plying hard. The Royals have won back to back games versus the Tigers after a 12-9 victory on Sunday. KC starter Edinson Volquez gave up four runs on six hits and four BB with Dillon Gee and Wade Davis giving up two runs each. The Royals amassed 19 hits and rode the long ball with Raul Mondesi, Alex Gordon, Salvador Perez and Chester Cuthbert each going deep. Veteran Ian Kennedy gets the ball Tuesday for 5th time versus Minnesota in 2016. Kennedy comes off a 4-3 defeat at Cleveland where he gave up three runs on ten hits in 5.2 frames. 

The under is 8-2 in Minnesota’s last 10 overall and  is 8-2 in their last 10 on grass while the Twins  are 5-16 in their last 21 road games. The over is 10-2-1 in Kansas City’s last 13 games following a win and  is 13-3-1 in their last 17 home games while going  22-6-1 in their last 29 overall. Minnesota are 15-36 in the last 11 meetings.
