The San Francisco Giants need to keep winning in order to clinch a playoff spot in the National League. The Giants have scored 16 runs in their last three games and seven or more runs in four of their last six games. The San Francisco Giants offense has been hit or miss all second half long, and they’ve won six straight games when scoring more than three runs. Buster Posey leads San Francisco with 151 hits, Brandon Crawford has 83 RBI and Denard Span has 11 home runs. Albert Suarez takes the hill, and he’s 3-5 with a 4.29 ERA and 54 strikeouts this season. This will be Suarez’s first career game against the Dodgers.
The Dodgers are 11-5 in their last 16 during game 2 of a series and 58-20 in Kershaws last 78 starts. The Giants are 7-3 in their last 10 Saturday games and 1-4 in their last 5 vs. a team with a winning record. The Dodgers are 6-0 in Kershaws last 6 starts vs. Giants.
The Giants obviously need the win more than the Dodgers and the fact they're at home on the quick turnaround does have an advantage. However, I'm not sure how anybody picks against Kershaw, especially with him having an ERA of 0.86 in the month of September, which was four starts. I just can't do it no matter what the Giants are playing for. Give me the Dodgers to even up this series against the Giants.
