The Line: Kansas City Royals / Cleveland Indians --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Cleveland Indians look to wrap up the regular season on a winning note as they take on the Kansas City Royals on Sunday.
The Indians have long been crowned the 2016 AL Central division champions and will look to keep the World Series title in the division as they head into the postseason looking to generate some momentum with a series win against the reigning league champs. Cleveland has had a very impressive season and has generated a ton of victories without an overbearing roster and while their rotation is among the league’s most daunting it is unclear whether or not they will have their three headed monster available to them during the postseason. Josh Tomlin will get the call in this one as he faces off against Ian Kennedy who is 11-10 this season but carries a solid 3.69 ERA.

The Royals have had a disappointing follow up this season after winning the World Series last year and while they can hang their hats on being the reigning champs they haven’t looked like the same group this season and won’t have a shot at defending their crown. The Royals have dealt with some serious injuries but they lost some pieces in the offseason via free agency and the combination hasn’t been great and they may face even more adversity with some pending free agents this winter.
The Indians are 8-2 in their last 10 games against a righty, 5-1 in Tomlin’s last six Sunday starts, and 1-4 in his last five road starts while the Royals are 1-5 in their last six following a loss, 20-8 in their last 28 home games against a team with a winning road record and 1-6 in their last seven home games against a team with a winning record. The Indians don’t have much t play for here and I think Kennedy is the better pitcher and I like the value here on the home side.
