The Miami Marlins shoot for a win to end the year against the rival Nationals in Sunday action. The Marlins had a shot at back to back wins but their offense stumbled in a 2-1 loss at Washington. The Washington Nationals are coasting in to the playoffs as the National League East champs. The Nationals offense didn’t do much Saturday but their pitching saved the day. Nats starter Tanner Roark gave up the only run on three hits and four BB through 5.2 innings while four relievers put up zeros. Washington posted seven hits and three walks with Trea Turner going deep and scoring twice while Bryce Harper rapped an RBI single. Max Scherzer looks to stay hot heading in to the playoffs with a win against visiting Miami Sunday. Scherzer defeated Arizona 4-2 last time with both runs scoring in six frames.
The over is 8-1-2 in Miami’s last 11 road games and Miami are 11-3 in their last 14 Sunday games. The under is 8-3-1 in Washington’s last 12 home games and is 9-1 in Scherzer’s last 10 home starts while Washington are 19-7 in Scherzer’s last 26 starts. The under 11-4-1 in the last 16 meetings. I’ll take Scherzer but the value is not there…
