The Baltimore Orioles head to the Rogers Centre to face the Toronto Blue Jays in the AL Wild Card.
The Baltimore Orioles clinched the second AL Wild Card which means the one game playoff will be on the road at Toronto. The Orioles punched their ticket to the postseason thanks to winning seven of ten to close the year. The O’s spent some time atop the American League East but in the end their power at the plate wasn’t enough to overcome pitching that was average at best. The Birds smashed a MLB best 253 Homers and averaged 4.59 runs which was 12th but their .256 BA suggests the team had some problems manufacturing runs. Baltimore was just 19th in the game with a 4.22 ERA so you have to wonder if the team has the arms to win a long series if they won the Wild Card.

The Toronto Blue Jays earned the top American League Wild Card despite an identical record as the Orioles because they won the season series. The Blue Jays were 6-4 to end the regular season to barely squeeze in to the playoffs in a very untypical way if you have followed this team over the past several years. The Jays did score runs and hit long balls which is their reputation but they are in the postseason because of their pitching which is the surprise. Toronto was 6th with a 3.78 and were second in quality starts with 100 and that will win games. Of course, the Blue Jays were 9th in scoring and 4th in homers with 221 which made the team batting average of .248 work but that’s what this offense always did.
The under is 11-1 in Baltimore’s last 12 Tuesday games and is 30-9 in their last 39 games following a win while going 6-2 in their last 8 road games. The under is 19-7 in Toronto’s last 26 overall and Toronto are 9-4 in their last 13 Tuesday games. The Orioles are 25-56 in the last 81 meetings in Toronto.
Pitchers and lines are listed but I'm going to probably just watch with all the juice...
