The Washington Nationals look to close out their NLDS on the road versus the Los Angeles Dodgers Tuesday.
The Washington Nationals are making bid for the next round of the playoffs after an 8-3 win at Los Angeles gave them a 2-1 lead in the NLDS. The Nationals have their offense and pen to thank with starter Gio Gonzalez allowing all three runs on three hits and three BB over 4.1 frames before four relievers held the fort. The Nats totaled eight hits and six walks with Anthony Rendon smacking a two run bomb while Jason Werth homered, drove in two and scored twice followed by a two RBI effort from Ryan Zimmerman. Washington has yet to name a starter although it won’t be Stephen Strasburg who is still hurt.

The National League West winning Los Angeles Dodgers are facing elimination following Tuesday night’s loss to the visiting Nationals. The Dodgers offense stalled and the starting and late inning relief struggled. LAD starter Kenta Maeda was charged with four runs on five hits and a pair of free passes through three innings before Kenley Jansen was tagged four runs in the 9th and recording just one out. Los Angeles was held to six hits and a pair of base on balls with Carlos Ruiz clubbing a pinch hit, two run homer. The Dodgers season is on the line when Julio Urias takes the hill in game four of the NLDS on Tuesday. Urias has made 15 starts and has gone 5-2 with 1.45 WHIP and 3.39 ERA.
The under is 7-1 in Washington last 8 Tuesday games and is 12-5 in their last 17 road games. The Dodgers are 15-5 in their last 20 Tuesday games and are 44-16 in their last 60 home games while the over is 5-2-1 in their last 8 overall. The Nationals are 3-8 in the last 11 meetings.
No line is out because Washington has not named a starter but I suspect every resource will be available to try and end this series…
