Los Angeles totaled seven hits and three walks with Adrian Gonzalez cracking a two run bomb while Joc Pederson ripped a two run double. The Washington Nationals have had Clayton Kershaw on the hook twice and lost both times which is the main reason they are in a decisive game five in the NLDS. The Nationals 6-5 loss in game four was painful because when a team scores five time on Clayton Kershaw, the game has to be won. Nats starter Joe Ross gave up four runs through 2.2 innings with Reynaldo Lopez and Blake Treinen giving up a run apiece. Washington mustered eight hits and two walks with Daniel Murphy going 2-3 with four RBI’s while Trea Turner went 3-5 with three runs. The Nationals turn to Max Scherzer for the second time in the NLDS versus the Dodgers. Scherzer lost the series opener 4-3 with all four runs allowed over six frames.
The Dodgers are 2-8 in their last 10 playoff road games and the over is 6-2-1 in their last 9 road games while going 7-3-2 in their last 12 Thursday games. Washington are 13-6 in their last 19 home games and the under is 9-3 in Scherzer’s last 12 home starts while Washington are 19-7 in Scherzer’s last 26 starts. The Dodgers are 9-3 in the last 12 meetings.
Washington has gotten their share of opportunities and both teams have been scoring anyway so perhaps another over…
