The Detroit Tigers look for a road win versus the Seattle Mariners in Monday MLB baseball action.
The Detroit Tigers are in need of a long hot streak that will lift them to the top of the American League Central. That hasn’t happened as the Tigers have dropped seven of eleven after Sunday’s 9-1 defeat at the hands of visiting Tampa Bay. Detroit starter Buck Farmer was hit hard with seven runs plated on five hits including three home runs over 2.1 frames with Chad Bell allowing two runs in 4.2 innings. The Tigers mustered six hits and a pair of free passes wit Justin Upton driving in Alex Avilia with the lone run. The Detroit Tigers hand the ball to Anibal Sanchez for his first start since 2015. Sanchez had been in a long relief role for the Tigers but had since been demoted to the Triple A Toledo Mud Hens where he was 0-2 with a 4.60 ERA covering 15.2 frames.

Detroit are 2-6 in their last 8 versus a team with a losing record and the under is 5-2 in Detroit last 7 road games while the over is 5-2 in Detroit last 7 versus a team with a losing record. Seattle are 1-4 in their last 5 overall and Seattle are 1-5 in their last 6 versus a team with a losing record while the under is 4-0 in Seattle last 4 home games.
Nether team is playing well enough that you bet the house on them. A rookie going for a Mariners squad that was hot before falling all the way to 4th in the AL West while Sanchez was demoted to the minors after some big time struggles. Ugly looking but I’ll go with Seattle because I don’t know what Sanchez will do…
