The Rangers will be rolling out RHP Tyson Ross for the start Tuesday. In his 25.1 innings and 2-1 record this year, Ross has a 5.33 ERA with 18 Ks and 13 BBs.
Texas has some notable hitters on board this year. Elvis Andrus came into this series with 104 hits, 54 runs, 11 homers and 50 RBI, while Nomar Mazara had 79 hits, 38 runs, 12 homers and 57 RBI. On Monday, Andrus and Mazara combined to go 0-for-7.
Over on the Orioles’ side, they’re going with RHP Dylan Bundy on Tuesday. Bundy has gone through 108.0 innings with an 8-8 record this year, tallying a 4.33 ERA with 84 Ks and 35 BBs.
Baltimore has a few key guys at the plate also. Coming into this set, Jonathan Schoop had 98 hits, 51 runs, 18 homers and 54 RBI, while Mark Trumbo had 91 hits, 58 runs, 15 homers and 47 RBI. In Monday’s game, Schoop posted an RBI, but Trumbo whiffed 0-for-4.
The Rangers are 9-1 in their last 10 during game two of a series, and 5-1 in their last six Tuesday games. The under is 8-3 in the Rangers’ last 11 during game two of a series, and Texas is 7-18 in their last 25 versus the AL East.
Meanwhile, the Orioles are 5-11 in their last 16 Tuesday games, and 0-5 in their last five during game two of a series. Baltimore is also 3-8 in Bundy’s last 11 starts and 1-4 in Bundy’s last five home starts.
Ross has had a couple of stumbles this year, but otherwise has done okay. In his last outing versus the Angels, he logged one earned on four hits over 5.2 innings. As for Bundy, He’s been pretty bad over his last two starts, giving up 11 earned on 12 hits in 9.0 innings. Ross is capable of imploding, but I like him better than Bundy right now. Give me the Rangers.
