The Los Angeles Angels are trying to keep their Wild Card hopes afloat but it has been a struggle. The Angels have lost seven of ten overall but are hoping Sunday’s 4-3 victory versus the Tampa Bay Rays was the beginning of a hot streak where the pitching came up big. LAA starter Parker Bridwell allowed a pair of runs on six hits and a walk while striking out eight through 6.1 innings before Bud Norris made things interesting with a run surrendered in the 9th on his way to his 14th save. Los Angeles did their damage on eight hits and five walks with CJ Cron clubbing a two run homer while Andrelton Simmons went 3-4 with two runs scored. The Los Angeles Angels hand the ball to Jesse Chavez for the start in game one of their series with the Washington Nationals. Chavez absorbed a 5-3 loss at the Texas Rangers last time out with three runs given up on seven hits and two BB in five frames.
The over is 8-2 in Washington last 10 Tuesday games and Washington are 12-5 in their last 17 road games. The over is 6-2 in Los Angeles last 8 versus National League East and Los Angeles are 19-7 in their last 26 Tuesday games. The over is 10-4-1 in the last 15 meetings.
Call me clueless but I don’t have a reason to back either pitcher so I’ll go with the over and hope somebody doesn’t throw a gem…
