For the Wednesday game, the Cubs will be bringing out LHP Mike Montgomery. In his 74.0 innings and 1-6 record this year, Montgomery has a 4.01 ERA with 60 Ks and 37 BBs.

The Cubs have some noteworthy bats this year. Anthony Rizzo came into Tuesday with 87 hits, 56 runs, 23 homers and 60 RBI, while Kris Bryant had 86 hits, 60 runs, 19 homers and 40 RBI. Rizzo came up empty on Tuesday, but Bryant logged a hit and a run.

Over on the Braves’ side, they’re going with veteran RA Dickey on Wednesday. In his 110.1 innings and 6-5 record this year, Dickey has a 4.08 ERA with 73 Ks and 42 BBs.

Atlanta has a few notable bats as well. Coming into Tuesday, Ender Inciarte brought 119 hits, 64 runs and 37 RBI, while Nick Markakis had 96 hits, 47 runs and 46 RBI. On Tuesday, Inciarte whiffed 0-for-3 but Markakis had a solo homer.

The Cubs are 1-5 in their last six Wednesday games, and 2-7 in Montgomery’s last nine starts. Chicago is also 1-4 in Montgomery’s last five road starts, and 1-4 in Montgomery’s last five road starts versus a team with a losing record.

Meanwhile, the Braves are 5-1 in their last six during game three of a series, and 6-0 in Dickey’s last six home starts. Atlanta is also 4-1 in Dickey’s last five starts and 0-4 in Dickey’s last four starts during game three of a series.

Montgomery had a pretty good run back in June, but he’s stumbled a bit lately. Over his last three appearances, he’s allowed 13 earned in 9.2 innings. As for Dickey, He’s been solid over his last five starts, allowing just four earned runs total. I know Dickey is prone to implosions, but I’m going to stick with him here. Give me the Braves.
