The Baltimore Orioles will look to build on their rout of the Rangers in game three on Wednesday. Chris Davis did the bulk of the damage for Baltimore, hitting a pair of homers including a grand slam with a total of six RBIs. Seth Smith added a solo homer and Trey Mancini also went yard for a two run shot. Jonathan Schoop went 2 for 4 with a two run double and Manny Machado added an RBI of his own while Ruben Tejada went 3 for 5 with a double. Adam Jones, Mark Trumbo and Welington Castillo each chipped in base hits in the win for Baltimore. Dylan Bundy got the win, improving to 9-8 this season after giving up just the one run on four hits while striking out four over six innings of work. Kevin Gausman will start game one and is 5-7 with a 6.39 ERA and 88 strikeouts this season. In his career, Gausman is 1-2 with a 4.05 ERA and 22 strikeouts against Texas.
Texas is 4-1 in Perez’s last 5 starts and 8-20 in their last 28 against the AL East while the under is 7-1-1 in their last 9 games overall. Baltimore is 2-5 in Gausman’s last 7 starts and 3-8 in their last 11 games overall while the under is 12-2 in Gausman’s last 14 starts against the AL West. Texas is 4-11 in the last 15 meetings between these two teams in Baltimore.
Texas hasn’t shown us any reason to feel comfortable backing them, but on the other side, I’m not backing Gausman who has given up 13 earned runs in his last two starts, combining for just seven innings. Instead, I’ll side with the over as I think this one easily hits double digits.
