The Arizona Diamondbacks visit the Cincinnati Reds in Wednesday MLB baseball action.
The Arizona Diamondbacks have hit the skids which is not a good thing when chasing the Dodgers in the NL West. The Diamondbacks had dropped eight of ten before putting everything together in an 11-2 win at Cincinnati on Tuesday. Zona starter Robbie Ray improved to 9-4 with both runs allowed on four hits and three BB over six frames. The Diamondbacks totaled 12 hits and nine walks with Chris Hermann and Ray Fuentes going deep and driving in five followed by a two RBI night from Jake Lamb. A surging Zack Greinke draws the Wednesday start for the Arizona Diamondbacks against the Cincinnati Reds. Greinke has won three straight after downing the Cincinnati Reds 6-3 with four hits and a base on balls given up over seven shutout frames.

The Cincinnati Reds have been relegated to the role of spoiler and they will have plenty of opportunities in a tight NL Central. The Reds couldn’t get their bats or pitching going on Tuesday night and the struggling Diamondbacks took advantage. Cincinnati starter Sal Romano gave up six runs on six hits and five bases on balls through four innings to absorb the loss while two relievers allowed a combined five runs in three frames. The Reds offense consisted of six hits and a trio of walks with Zack Cozart going deep and scoring both runs. The Cincinnati Reds have scheduled Tim Adleman for Wednesday’s outing versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Adleman comes off of a 5-0 defeat versus the Washington Nationals with all five runs given up on seven hits and three walks over 4.1 frames.
The under is 8-2-2 in Arizona last 12 overall and the under is 8-2-2 in Arizona last 12 on grass while Arizona are 7-2 in their last 9 Wednesday games. The under is 12-3-1 in Cincinnati last 16 overall and the under is 12-3-1 in Cincinnati last 16 on grass. Arizona are 6-2 in the last 8 meetings in Cincinnati and the under is 52-24-7 in the last 83 meetings.
I have to believe the Diamondbacks are too good to keep losing and I look for another big win here…
