Detroit will be going with RHP Anibal Sanchez in the Friday game. Over his 50.1 innings and 1-0 record this year, Sanchez has a 6.79 ERA with 47 Ks and 13 BBs.

The Tigers have a few notable hitters this year. Coming into Thursday, Nick Castellanos had 89 hits, 48 runs, 14 homers and 54 RBI, while Justin Upton had 86 hits, 56 runs, 15 homers and 56 RBI. On Thursday, Castellanos whiffed but Upton had two hits and a run.

Over on the Twins’ side, they just finished up against the Yankees. Minnesota lost on Tuesday, but won on Monday and Wednesday to take the series.

Minnesota will be going with RHP Ervin Santana on Friday. In his 126.1 innings and 11-6 record this year, Santana has a 2.99 ERA with 94 Ks.

Minnesota has some notable bats as well. Brian Dozier leads the way on 89 hits, 44 runs, 15 homers and 47 RBI, while Miguel Sano has 88 hits, 60 runs, 23 homers and 66 RBI.

The Tigers are 1-4 in the last five Friday games, and 5-1 in Sanchez’s last six starts versus the AL Central. Detroit is also 5-2 in Sanchez’s last seven starts and 9-4 in Sanchez’s last 13 Friday starts.

Meanwhile, the Twins are 9-4 in their last 13 Friday games, and 1-6 in their last seven games following an off day. The under is 5-0 in the Twins’ last five overall, and 4-1 in the Twins’ last five home games.

Over his last three starts, Sanchez has given up 10 earned in 18.1 innings. As for Santana, he went 6.0 innings with two runs in a win over the Astros in his last outing. Santana has thrown at least 100 pitches in each of his last five starts. I like Santana to keep it going here so I’ll take the Twins for the victory.
