For Wednesday’s matchup, the Marlins will be bringing out RHP Jose Urena in the start. Over his 95.1 innings and 8-4 record this year, Urena has a 3.78 ERA with 65 Ks and 35 BBs.
The Marlins have some solid bats this year. Coming into Tuesday, Marcel Ozuna had 118 hits, 54 runs, 23 homers and 72 RBI, while Dee Gordon had 112 hits, 59 runs and 19 RBI. On Tuesday, Ozuna came up empty, but Gordon had two hits and two runs.
Over on the Rangers’ side, they’re going with RHP Yu Darvish in the start on Wednesday. In his 133.1 innings and 6-8 record this year, Darvish has a 3.44 ERA with 143 Ks and 43 BBs.
Texas has some big bats as well. Elvis Andrus led the way coming into Tuesday with 111 hits, 58 runs, 13 homers and 53 RBI, while Shin-Soo Choo had 82 hits, 53 runs, 14 homers and 48 RBI. Choo logged two hits, two runs and two RBI on Tuesday; Andrus had two hits with a run and an RBI.
The Marlins are 5-2 in their last seven Wednesday games, and 6-1 in Urena’s last seven road starts. Miami is also 9-3 in Urena’s last 12 starts and 6-1 in Urena’s last seven starts with four days’ rest.
Meanwhile, the Rangers are 1-7 in their last eight Wednesday games, and 1-6 in Darvish’s last seven starts. Texas is also 0-4 in Darvish’s last four starts in game three of a series, and 0-5 in Darvish’s last five home starts.
In the Dodgers game, Urena gave up five earned in 3.0 innings, but bounced back with one earned on three hits in 6.0 innings in Cincinnati. As for Darvish, He hasn’t posted a win since June 12, and is 0-1 in his last three with seven earned across 22.0 innings. Despite Darvish’s best efforts, he’s not getting much help, so I’ll take the Marlins here.
