The Cleveland Indians will look to complete the sweep after winning the first two games of this series following their victory in game two on Wednesday. Bradley Zimmer led the way by going 2 for 4 with a solo homer and an RBI double, while Yan Gomes and Erik Gonzalez also went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, with Gomes adding a double to the cause in the win. Carlos Santana, Austin Jackson, Brandon Guyer and Michael Brantley each added RBIs while Francisco Lindor and Jose Ramirez added base hits of their own in the win. Carlos Carrasco tossed 6.1 innings, giving up a pair of runs on six hits while striking out five. Bryan Shaw got the win to even his record at 4-4 this season. Trevor Bauer will start game three for the Tribe and is 8-8 with a 5.58 ERA and 111 strikeouts this season. In his career, Bauer is 3-0 with a 3.14 ERA and 20 strikeouts against the Angels.
Los Angeles is 6-1 in Ramirez’s last 7 road starts and 1-5 in their last 6 road games while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. Cleveland is 5-1 in Bauer’s last 6 starts against the AL West and 7-0 in their last 7 games overall while the over is 6-2 in their last 8 games against a team with a losing record. Los Angeles is 1-11 in the last 12 meetings between these two teams.
Ramirez has been a solid option for the Angels this season and Bauer has been up and down this season, but the Indians are on fire right now and Bauer has had a nice amount of success against the Angels in his career. Gotta go with the Indians to complete the sweep after what we have seen in the first two games.
