The San Francisco Giants visit the rival Los Angeles Dodgers in a Friday night MLB baseball tilt.
The San Francisco Giants won’t be going to the postseason but they can be a spoiler in the National League West. The Giants visit the Dodgers riding back to back wins after knocking off the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-1 on Wednesday behind outstanding work on the mound. SF starter Jeff Samardzija allowed the lone Pirates run over seven frames while striking out eight to improve to 5-11. San Francisco did their damage on seven hits and four free passes with Brandon Belt and Corey Crawford driving in runs with Joe Panik and Miguel Gomez scoring. The San Francisco Giants open their series at the Los Angeles Dodgers with left hander Matt Moore on the bump. Moore did not get a decision 5-4 win versus the San Diego Padres last time out where he was charged with all four runs on seven hits in six frames.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been cruising in the National League West and should they stay healthy they will likely have the best record in the game. The Dodgers have been rolling with five consecutive victories following a 6-5 win versus the visiting Twins on Wednesday night. LAD starter Brock Stewart came out of the bullpen to toss 3.2 innings where he was charged with all five runs although none were earned while four relievers allowed two hits over 5.1 frames. Los Angeles pounded out eleven hits and walked twice with Chase Utley driving in two on a PH double while Yasiel Puig and Joc Pederson connected on solo homers. Alex Wood toes the rubber for the Los Angeles Dodgers against the San Francisco Giants in their series. Wood dropped his first game of the season 9-3 to the Atlanta Braves last time out with all nine runs (seven earned) allowed on nine hits and four BB in 4.2 frames.
The over is 10-3-2 in San Francisco last 15 overall and the over is 10-3-2 in San Francisco last 15 on grass while the over is 8-2-1 in Moore’s last 11 road starts. Los Angeles are 44-11 in their last 55 overall and Los Angeles are 44-11 in their last 55 games on grass while Los Angeles are 43-12 in their last 55 home games. San Francisco are 9-4 in the last 13 meetings.
I don’t know if the Dodgers represent any value at home these days so it’s probably better to look elsewhere…
