MLB baseball comes to Safeco Field where the New York Mets and the Seattle Mariners collide on Sunday.

The New York Mets have been playing well the past few weeks and if the team expects to reach .500 the winning must continue. The Mets had won seven of ten but cooled down for a day in Saturday’s 3-2 defeat at Seattle where the offense was held in check. New York starter Jacob deGrom was charged with all three runs (two earned) on five hits and a walk while striking out ten over six frames to fall to 12-4. The Mets managed eight hits and five bases on balls with Wilmer Flores driving in a run and scoring while Michael Conforto drove in a run and Yoenis Cespedes scored.Seth Lugo toes the rubber for the New York Mets against the Seattle Mariners who he  sees  for  the  first  time  in  his  career.  Lugo  defeated  the  San  Diego  Padres  6-5  last time  out with  four runs  allowed  (three earned) on eight hits over six frames.

Seattle Mariners vs. New York Mets - 7/30/17 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Seattle Mariners need to get back on the winning track to hold their position in the Wild Card race. The Mariners did exactly that in knocking off the Mets and a red hot Jacob deGrom with their pitching saving the day which prevented a three game skid. M’s starter Yovani Gallardo came up huge with a run scoring on five hits and a pair of free passes through 5.2 innings to improve to 5-7. Seattle totaled nine hits and walked once with Jarrod Dyson going 2-3 with a pair of RBI’s while Nelson Cruz recorded an RBI and scored. The Seattle Mariners are sending a surging James Paxton to the bump to oppose the visiting New York Mets on Sunday. Paxton has reeled off five straight wins capped off by a 4-0 victory over the Boston Red Sox where he struck out ten over seven frames.

The over is 6-2 in New York last 8 interleague games and New York are 7-3 in their last 10 overall while New York are 7-3 in their last 10 games on grass. The under is 7-2 in Seattle last 9 Sunday games and Seattle are 5-14 in their last 19 home games while the over is 21-8-3 in Seattle last 32 interleague games. New York are 4-1 in the last 7 meetings in Seattle.

The price is high on Seattle to me but Paxton probably demands this number with his hot run…
