The New York Yankees host the Detroit Tigers in an MLB baseball tilt on Tuesday night.

The Detroit Tigers are well off the pace in the American League Central and are looking to next season with few things going their way in 2017. The Tigers were denied a third straight win in a 7-3 loss at the Yankees on Monday. Detroit starter Michael Fulmer was charged with all seven runs (six earned) on seven hits and a walk over six frames to get the loss. The Tigers totaled nine hits and four walks with Jim Adduci  and James McCann driving in Mikie Mahtook who scored twice. The Detroit Tigers have tabbed Anibal Sanchez as Tuesday’s starter at the New York Yankees. Sanchez will be looking to bounce back from a 16-2 defeat at the hands of the Kansas City Royals where he gave up four runs on nine hits and two BB in 3.2 frames.

New York Yankees vs. Detroit Tigers - 8/1/17 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The New York Yankees have been on a two week hot streak which has enabled the team to take over first in the American League East. The hot streak continued Monday with both the arm’s and bats producing to give the Yankees nine wins in eleven contests. Yanks starter Luis Severino picked up the win wit a run allowed on four hits and three bases on balls while striking out eight through five innings pitched. Th Yankees totaled seven hits and three free passes with Aaron Judge going deep and scoring twice while Chase Headley drove in two and scored followed by Clint Frazier with an RBI and a run. The New York Yankees send veteran left hander CC Sabathia to the mound to face the Detroit Tigers. Sabathia did not receive a decision in a 6-5 win versus  the Tampa Bay Rays last time out with four runs allowed on five hits and a walk in 4.1 frames.

Detroit are 3-9 in their last 12 overall and Detroit are 3-9 in their last 12 games on grass. The over is 8-2 in New York last 10 home games and New York are 4-12 in their last 16 overall while New York  are 4-12 in their last 16 games on grass. The under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings in New York.

Much of what happens depens on whether Sanchez rebounds but I’m leaning on the New York offense…
