The Line: Atlanta Braves / Los Angeles Dodgers --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves face off in game two of their three game set on Wednesday.
The Los Angeles Dodgers remain the hottest team in baseball after a 3-2 win in game one pushed their winning streak to nine games with victories in 39 of their last 45 games. Cody Bellinger led the way, going 2 for 4 with his team-leading 29th homer of the season, while Chris Taylor went 1 for 4 with an RBI double. Yasiel Puig went 2 for 4 with a double of his own, while Justin Turner, Chase Utley and Logan Forysthe each added base hits of their own in the win. Kenta Maeda got the win to improve to 10-4 this season after throwing seven innings of two-hit, shutout baseball while striking out six in the win. Brock Stewart will start game one and is 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 12 strikeouts this season. This will be Stewart’s first career start against Atlanta.

The Atlanta Braves will look to snap a six game losing streak after their loss in game two gave Atlanta their ninth loss in their last ten games. Johan Camargo accounted for both Braves’ runs in the loss, putting up a two-run homer to cut the deficit to one in the bottom of the 8th but the Braves couldn’t get any closer in the 9th. Ender Inciarte, Tyler Flowers and Brandon Phillips each notched a base hit in the loss as the Braves put up just four hits as a team. Lucas Sims took the loss, falling to 0-1 this season after giving up three runs on six hits while striking out three over six innings of work. Julio Teheran will start game two and is 7-9 with a 5.09 ERA and 91 strikeouts this season. In his career, Teheran is 0-6 with a 5.32 ERA and 43 strikeouts against the Dodgers.
Los Angeles is 47-11 in their last 58 games overall and 4-0 in Stewart’s last 4 starts while the over is 8-3 in their last 11 against the NL East. Atlanta is 0-6 in their last 6 games overall and 1-5 in their last 6 against the NL West while the under is 12-3-2 in their last 17 home games against a right-handed starter. Los Angeles is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams.
As if we needed another reason to back the Dodgers with how well they’ve played over the last couple of months, you see that Teheran has had zero success against the Dodgers in his career. Stewart doesn’t have much time under his belt this season, but I’ve said it before, with how the Dodgers have been playing, I could start a game on the mound and get the win. Give me the Dodgers to put up another double digit winning streak.
