The Boston Red Sox need to avoid a losing streak of any length as the team tries to stay with the surging Yankees in the American League East. The Red Sox picked up a game on the Yankees with Tuesday’s victory over the visiting Cleveland Indians which gave the team wins in four of six. Boston ace Chris Sale suffered a rare off night with seven runs given up on seven hits including two homers in five innings before Craig Kimbrel allowed two runs in the 9th to get a BS and a win when Boston won it on a walk off three run jack. Boston amassed 15 hits with Mitch Moreland and Christian Vasquez clubbing three run bombs and scoring three times each while Eduardo Nunez went 3-5 with four RBI’s. Rick Porcello toes the rubber for the Boston Red Sox versus the visiting Cleveland Indians on Wednesday. Porcello comes off of a 4-2 defeat against the Cleveland Indians where he allowed all four runs on six hits including two homers in seven frames.
Cleveland are 9-2 in their last 11 overall and Cleveland are 9-2 in their last 11 games on grass while Cleveland are 3-8 in their last 11 Wednesday games. The under is 20-7-1 in Boston last 28 home games and the under is 7-1 in Porcello’s last 8 Wednesday starts while Boston are 1-7 in Porcello’s last 8 Wednesday starts. The under is 6-1-1 in the last 8 meetings.
Bauer is very unpredictable and Porcello doesn’t win so I’d personally look elsewhere…
