The Tampa Bay Rays and the Houston Astros face off in game three of their four game set at Minute Maid Park on Wednesday.

The Tampa Bay Rays come into this one looking to take the series lead after evening up the set at one win apiece after a 6-4 victory in game two on Tuesday. Evan Longoria led the charge, hitting for the 2nd cycle in Rays’ franchise history, going 4 for 5 with a two run homer, an RBI triple and a double for his three RBIs in the win. Logan Morrison went 2 for 5 with a solo homer and two RBIs while Adeiny Hechavarria added an RBI of his own in the win. Lucas Duda added a double, going 2 for 4 at the dish while Peter Bourjos, Mallex Smith and Jesus Sucre all added base knocks of their own in the win. Chris Archer got the win, improving to 8-6 this season after giving up all four runs on six hits while striking out five over six innings of work. The Tampa Bay bullpen held things down the rest of the way, culminating with Alex Colome’s 31st save of the year. Austin Pruitt will start game three and is 5-2 with a 6.63 ERA and 34 strikeouts this season. This will be Pruitt’s first career, start against Houston.

The Houston Astros will look to bounce back after dropping game two on Tuesday to allow Tampa Bay to tie up the set. Carlos Beltran led Houston by going 2 for 4 with a solo homer and two RBIs, while Alex Bregman matched that mark with a solo homer and two RBIs of his own to round out the offensive output for Houston in defeat. Marwin Gonzalez and Evan Gattis each went 1 for 4 with a double while Yuli Gurriel and Josh Reddick each added a base hit in the loss. Mike Fiers took the loss, falling to 7-6 this season after giving up all six runs on seven hits while walking three and striking out a pair over 6.1 innings of work. Dallas Keuchel will sart game three and is 9-0 with a 1.94 ERA and 72 strikeouts this season. In his career, Keuchel is 1-4 with a 4.70 ERA and 33 strikeouts against Tampa Bay.

Tampa Bay is 1-5 in their last 6 against the AL West and 2-5 in their last 7 games against a left-handed starter while the over is 34-15-2 in their last 51 games following a win. Houston is 53-25 in Keuchel’s last 78 starts and 21-10 in their last 31 against the AL East while the over is 19-6-1 in their last 26 games overall. Houston is 2-5 in Keuchel’s last 7 starts against Tampa Bay.

Even though Keuchel has had his struggles against the Rays, this is the Astros’ staff ace we are talking about, who is still undefeated and Houston has only lost one of his starts this season, all the way back on April 8th. The Rays have been solid on the road, and are in a good spot for a wild card battle down the stretch, but I just haven’t seen enough from Pruitt to warrant me giving the plus money a look against the Astros and their top pitcher. I’m not a fan of the steep line so I’ll take Houston by a couple here on the run line for some added value.
