The Los Angeles Dodgers look to continue their winning ways with a stop at the New York Mets in Friday MLB action.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have been adding a few pieces to the roster as the team motors towards the postseason but the team didn't need any of those pieces Thursday with a 7-4 win at the Atlanta Braves. LAD starter Alex Wood improved to 13-1 with a run given up on seven hits and three bases on balls through 6.1 innings of work before Tony Cingrani served up a three run bomb in the 9th. Los Angeles did their damage on nine hits and nine walks with Chris Taylor going 3-5 with a homer, two RBI’s and three runs while Logan Forsythe drove in a run and scored twice followed by Austin Barnes with a run and RBI. The Los Angeles Dodgers have slated newly acquired Yu Darvish as the starter for Friday’s bout at the New York Mets. Darvish struggled in his last start for the Texas Rangers where he was charged with ten runs in 3.2 innings of a 22-10 loss to the Miami Marlins.

The New York Mets are just trying to reach .500 overall which would be a solid accomplishment for a team that has a few key injuries. The Mets bid for consecutive victories fell by the wayside in a 5-4 loss at Colorado on Friday afternoon. NYM starter Rafael Montero was charged with four runs on ten hits including a pair of long balls over 5.2 innings with Hansel Robles falling to 6-3 with a run allowed in the 9th. New York logged nine hits and four free passes with Yoenis Cespedes going deep while Asdrubal Cabrera went 3-5 with an RBI. The New York Nets give Friday’s starting assignment versus the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers to Jacob deGrom. Degrom saw his eight game winning streak end in a 3-2 loss at the Seattle Mariners last time out with all three runs allowed (two earned) in six frames where he struck out ten.
Los Angeles are 17-4 in their last 21 Friday games and Los Angeles are 42-10 in their last 52 overall while Los Angeles are 42-10 in their last 52 games on grass. The over is 31-14-6 in New York last 51 home games and the over is 62-30-11 in New York last 103 overall while the over is 62-30-11 in New York last 103 on grass. Los Angeles are 13-6 in the last 19 meetings in New York.
The Mets aren’t very good and the Dodgers are but deGrom is good enough to beat anybody and right or wrong I’d have to look at him as a home dog…
