Saturday MLB baseball comes to Tropicana Field with the Tampa Bay Rays hosting the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Milwaukee Brewers have dropped to second in the National League Central but are right in the division leading Cubs shadow. The Brewers have won back to back games after a 2-0 victory at Tropicana Field Friday where the pitching carried the day. Rookie Brandon Woodruff won his major league debut with seven hits and two BB allowed over 6.1 scoreless innings. The Brew Crew did their damage on five hits and a pair of walks with Orlando Arcia and leaving the yard and scoring twice while Eric Thames recorded an RBI single. The Milwaukee Brewers go with Zach Davies as the game two starter at the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday. Davies comes off of a 4-2 loss versus the Chicago Cubs where he gave up three runs on seven hits and zero walks over seven innings pitched.

The Tampa Bay Rays are pressuring the Red Sox and Yankees in the American League East despite their third place standing. The Rays saw their three game winning streak come to an end on Friday night versus the visiting Milwaukee Brewers. The TB offense was silent and a great performance on the mound went for naught with starter Jacob Faria allowing falling to 5-2 with a run given up on four hits through six innings of work. Tampa Bay totaled nine hits and three free passes with David Morrison going 3-4 while Mallex Smith had two hits. The Tampa Bay Rays send right hander Alex Cobb to the hill Saturday to face a Milwaukee Brewers club he last saw in 2014. Cobb comes off of a 14-7 win (ND) at the Houston Astros where he was charged with eight runs over three innings of work.
Milwaukee are 2-8 in their last 10 road games and the under is 19-6-1 in Milwaukee last 26 overall while the under is 22-7-1 in Milwaukee last 30 on astroturf. Tampa Bay are 6-2 in their last 8 interleague home games and the over is 17-6 in Tampa Bay last 23 on astroturf while the over is 15-6 in Tampa Bay last 21 home games.
The Brewers are just not intimidated by anything so maybe something small on them…
