One of the marquee matchups on Tuesday kicks off a crucial NL West series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Los Angeles Dodgers come into this one looking to add another notch to their ridiculous stretch, winning 44 of their last 51 games after steamrolling the Mets 8-0 in the series finale on ESPN on Sunday night, completing the three game sweep. Justin Turner and Cody Bellinger each went yard with two RBIs, with Turner adding a double as part of his 2 for 4 day at the dish while Bellinger hit his team-leading 32nd homer of the season. Logan Forsythe went 2 for 3 with two RBIs of his own while Austin Barnes went 1 for 4 with a triple and an RBI. Chris Taylor added a triple while Corey Seager and Enrique Hernandez added base hits of their own in the win. Hyun-Jin Ryu threw a gem, giving up the Mets’ lone hit of the game, while throwing seven innings of shutout ball, striking out eight to improve to 4-6 with the win. Kenta Maeda will get the nod and is 10-4 with a 3.79 ERA and 90 strikeouts this season. In his career, Maeda is 3-2 with a 4.46 ERA and 44 strikeouts against the D-Backs.

The Arizona Diamondbacks will look to bounce back after dropping back-to-back games to close out their series against the Giants, including a 6-3 loss in the series finale on Sunday. Paul Goldschmidt went 1 for 4 with an RBI double while Daniel Descalso and David Peralta added RBIs of their own in the loss. Jake Lamb, J.D. Martinez and Ketel Marte added base hits of their own in the losing effort for Arizona. Patrick Corbin took the loss, giving up six runs, three earned, on seven hits while walking a pair and striking out ten over six innings of work to fall to 8-11 this season. Zack Godley will start game one and is 5-4 with a 2.86 ERA and 96 strikeouts this season. In his career, Godley is 0-1 with a 2.16 ERA and 17 strikeouts against the Dodgers.
Los Angeles is 44-7 in their last 51 games overall and 13-3 in Maeda’s last 16 starts while the under is 6-2 in their last 8 games overall. Arizona is 1-4 in Godley’s last 5 division starts and 40-18 in their last 58 home games while the under is 5-1 in Godley’s last 6 starts overall. Los Angeles is 4-1 in Maeda’s last 5 starts against Arizona.
With Arizona and the plus money at home, it’s a must play, unless you’re playing the Dodgers. The Dodgers just can’t lose right now, as they’ve put up the best 50 game stretch in the last 105 years. Godley has thrown back-to-back shutouts and has looked solid, but in his own right, Maeda has given up one run or less in six of his last seven starts and is coming in on extended rest. You will rarely get the Dodgers at this kind of price down the stretch, so based on value alone the Dodgers have to be the pick on Tuesday.
