The Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers lock horns in an MLB baseball tilt on Sunday.
The Cincinnati Reds have been playing well the past several days and are hoping the good times continue. The good times ended Saturday in a 6-5, ten inning defeat at Milwaukee Saturday which prevented a four game winning streak. Cinci starter Scott Feldman allowed three runs on seven hits over four frames with Kevin Shackelford giving up two runs in two innings with Tim Adleman surrendering a 10th inning run to get the loss. Cincinnati totaled six hits and six free passes with Zack Cozart, Adam Duvall and Patrick Kivlehan each going deep and combining for all five RBI’s. Rookie right hander Sal Romano draws Sunday’s start at the Milwaukee Brewers for the 8th start of his career. Romano has dropped back to back contests after a 7-3 loss versus the San Diego Padres where he was charged with five runs on nine hits over six frames.

The Milwaukee Brewers are fighting for survival as the team has gone from leading the NL Central to trying to stay above .500. The Brewers finally ended a six game slide with Saturday night’s victory to keep their playoff hopes alive. Brew Crew starter Brent Suter was charged with all five runs on four hits (three homers) and four bases on balls through five innings pitched while Josh Hader and Corey Knebel combined to toss five scoreless frames. Milwaukee pounded out 12 hits and walked six times with Eric Thames and Ryan Braun smacking solo homers while Travis Shaw went 2-5 with a homer and three RBI’s. The Milwaukee Brewers are scheduled to start Matt Garza against the visiting Cincinnati Reds on Sunday. Garza is coming in off of an 11-4 loss at the Minnesota Twins with eight runs given up on eight hits including four homers over 3.1 frames.

I don’t think Garza is the best option but he is in this match up so something small on Milwaukee…
