The Los Angeles Angels and the Seattle Mariners face off in the series finale of their four game AL West division set from Safeco Field on Sunday.
The Los Angeles Angels will be looking to complete the sweep after winning game three by a final score of 6-3 on Saturday, pushing their winning streak to five games overall. Luis Valbuena and Albert Pujols each went 1 for 4 with two RBIs, with Valbuena hitting a two run homer to tie the game in the 7th, while Pujols’ RBI double plated a pair and was the game-winning RBI in the top of the 8th. Andrelton Simmons also added an RBI by way of a sac fly. Martin Maldonado and C.J. Cron each went 2 for 4 with a double, while Kole Calhoun and Mike Trout each pitched in base hits of their own in the win. J.C. Ramirez gave up all three runs on seven hits while walking three and striking out four, not factoring in the decision. Keynan Middleton got the win to improve to 4-0 this season, while Cam Bedrosian turned out the lights in the 9th for his 5th save of the year. Parker Bridwell will start the finale and is 6-1 with a 3.00 ERA and 42 strikeouts this season. In his career, Bridwell is 0-1 with a 7.50 ERA and 2 strikeouts against Seattle.

The Seattle Mariners will try to salvage something from this series and avoid the sweep after dropping game three on Saturday.Kyle Seager led the charge by going 2 for 4 with a solo home run and an RBI single, while Nelson Cruz put up an RBI of his own to sum up the entire Mariners’ output in the loss. Jean Segura went 3 for 5 while Yonder Alonso and Jarrod Dyson each put up a pair of base hits in the losing effort. Robinson Cano added a double while Ben Gamel and Leonys Martin also contributed base hits for Seattle. Erasmo Ramirez gave up just an unearned run on three hits over six innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Casey Lawrence received his 1st blown save while Tony Zych took the loss to fall to 5-3 this season. Ariel Miranda will start the finale and is 7-5 with a 4.65 ERA and 109 strikeouts this season. In his career, Miranda is 4-0 with a 2.61 ERA and 19 strikeouts against the Angels.
Los Angeles is 6-0 in Bridwell’s last 6 starts and 5-0 in their last 5 games overall while the under is 4-0 in Bridwell’s last 4 starts against a team with a winning record. Seattle is 10-4 in Miranda’s last 14 division starts and 7-17 in their last 24 home games while the over is 6-1 in Miranda’s last 7 starts overall. Seattle is 4-0 in Miranda’s last 4 starts against the Angels.
Okay, I know Miranda has a perfect record against the Halos in his career, but L.A. is thoroughly outplaying Seattle in the first three games of this series and has to be full of confidence after passing the M’s and occupying the second wild card spot at the time of this post. Now Bridwell’s lone blemish on his record came at the hands of the Mariners, giving up five runs over six innings, but the Angels have won all but one of the games he has started this season. Miranda is coming off of a rough outing in which he gave up six earned in just five innings and has allowed four or more earned runs in four of his last six starts and six of his last ten. I think the Angels finally get to Miranda here, making the plus money one of the best bets on the board Sunday.
