USA TODAY Sports
The Colorado Rockies look for another win after losing five of their last seven games. The Rockies have scored nine runs in their last three games and three or more runs in 10 of their last 12 games. The Colorado Rockies have won eight of their last 12 games when scoring at least three runs. Charlie Blackmon leads the Rockies with 160 hits and 74 RBI while Nolan Arenado and DJ LeMahieu have combined for 276 hits and 150 RBI. Kyle Freeland gets the ball, and he is 11-7 with a 3.70 ERA and 77 strikeouts this season. This will be Freeland’s first career game against the Braves.
The Braves are 24-52 in their last 76 Tuesday games, 1-7 in their last 8 road games and 0-7 in Newcombs last 7 starts. The Rockies are 20-8 in their last 28 home games, 5-1 in Freelands last 6 home starts and 4-0 in Freelands last 4 starts. The Braves are 1-10 in the last 11 meetings in Colorado, 2-14 in the last 16 meetings and the under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings.
We're getting some nice plus money with the Braves here. Newcomb has given up three or less earned runs in each of his last four starts and is allowing a .197 batting average on the road. Freeland has been really solid this season, but he's missed almost two weeks with a groin injury, so who knows how he's going to look in his first game back. The Braves have been able to sneak wins in here and there when you least expect it and Newcomb has been good enough to take a chance on. I'll take a shot with the underdog here.
