MLB baseball comes to Target Field when the Minnesota Twins begin a series with the Chicago White Sox.

The Chicago White Sox have had their share of problems this season but the team is going through a little hot streak. The White Sox begin their road series at Target Field with wins in four of five following a 7-1 victory versus the visiting Detroit Tigers on Sunday afternoon. CWS starter Lucas Giolito was at his best with three hits and four bases on balls allowed through seven innings to even his record at 1-1. The Chicago attack  consisted of ten hits and a pair of bases on balls with Matt Davidson slugging a three run homer while Avisail Garcia went 2-3 with a walk and two runs scored. James Shields will be on the bump for the Chicago White Sox in the series opener at the Minnesota Twins. Shields comes off of a 4-3 victory  versus the  Twins with  three runs given up on only three (one homer) and three bases on balls over six innings.

Minnesota Twins vs. Chicago White Sox - 8/29/17 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Minnesota Twins are one of the top teams chasing a Wild Card but wins are needed going forward. The Twins have won two of three following a 7-2 victory at the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday. The Twins saw both the arms and bats contribute with starter Kyle Gibson allowing both runs on seven hits and a walk while whiffing seven over 6.2 innings of work to improve to 8-10. Minnesota racked up 14 hits and three walks with Byron Buxton carrying the offense with four hits, three homers, five RBI’s and four runs while Kennys Vargas went 2-5 with two runs driven in. Veteran right hander Ervin Santana draws Tuesday’s starting  assignment for the Minnesota Twins when he faces the Chicago White Sox for the 5th time in 2017. Santana comes off of a 4-3 loss to the CWS with a pair of runs given up over seven frames.

Chicago are 14-37 in their last 51 road games and the under is 9-4-1 in Chicago last 14 road games while Chicago  are 3-12 in Shields' last 15 road starts. Minnesota are 13-6 in their last 19 games on grass and Minnesota  are 15-7 in their last 22 overall while the under is 27-12-2 in Santana’s last 41 on grass. The under is 11-4-1 in the last 16 meetings.

This isn’t a slam dunk with the White Sox playing well and Shields having some success in this matchup. I’ll back Minnesota but not nothing big…
