The Cleveland Indians battle the Detroit Tigers in game one of their doubleheader in Friday MLB.
The Cleveland Indians have been heating up as the team tries to open up a big lead in the American League Central. The Indians have won seven straight capped off by a 9-4 win at the New York Yankees where everything fell in to place. Tribe starter Ryan Merritt upped his record to 2-0 with a single run scoring on five hits and a pair of walks over 5.1 frames with Zach McAllister serving up a three run homer in the 9th. Cleveland pounded out 13 hits and walked five times with Francisco Lindor, Yan Gomes and Edwin Encarnacion combining for five hits including homers, five runs and Five RBI’s while Yandy Diaz drove in two and scored. The Cleveland Indians have named Carlos Carrasco as the starter in game one of a twin bill at the Detroit Tigers. Carrasco comes in off of a 12-0 rout of the Kansas City Royals where he allowed six hits and struck out eight over seven innings of work.
