The Line: Baltimore Orioles +111 / Toronto Blue Jays -121 --- Over/Under: 9.5 See the Latest Odds

The Baltimore Orioles host the Toronto Blue Jays in American League East MLB action on Saturday.

The Toronto Blue Jays have not recovered from a slow start to 2017 with the team unable to string wins together for any amount of time. The Blue Jays began the season extremely slow and the team never recovered to get over the hump. The Jays averages reflect the team’s struggles with runs being difficult to come by at 4.26 per game on a team average of .241 with both being near the bottom of the Majors. The Toronto pitching has not been able to carry the team with a team ERA of 4.61 and a WHIP of 1.41 which says opponents are putting runners on base and too many are scoring. The Toronto Blue Jays hand Saturday’s start at the Baltimore Orioles to  right hander Marcus Stroman. Stroman comes off of a 6-5 loss versus the visiting Boston Red Sox where he gave up two runs (one earned) on seven hits over six innings of work.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Toronto Blue Jays - 9/2/17 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Baltimore Orioles have suddenly flipped on a switch the past few weeks and have gone from nowhere to challenging for a Wild Card. The Orioles had won eight of nine after outlasting the visiting Blue Jays 1-0 in a 13 inning marathon. O’s starter Kevin Gausman tossed a five hitter and struck out eight through six innings before four relievers kept Toronto off the scoreboard with Jimmy Yacabonis throwing a scoreless 13th to pick up the win. Baltimore managed nine hits and a pair of bases on balls with Jonathan Schoop going 2-6- and driving in Manny Machado with the game’s only run.  Left hander Wade Miley looks to stay hot when the Baltimore Orioles face the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday. Miley comes off of a 2-1 road victory versus the Boston Red Sox with a  run scoring  on seven  hits and  three walks  over  five frames.

The under is 19-5-2 in Toronto last 26 Saturday games and Toronto are 2-6 in their last 8 road games while Toronto are 10-3 in Stroman’s last 13 Saturday starts. Baltimore are 7-1 in their last 8 overall and Baltimore are 7-1 in their last 8 games on grass while Baltimore are 6-2 in Miley’s last 8 home starts. The under is 17-4 in the last 21 meetings and the under is 7-2 in the last 9 meetings in Baltimore.

I think the Blue Jays have an advantage on the mound but Toronto can struggle a bit versus left handers. This is my way of saying I’ll go with the hot team…
