Interleague MLB baseball comes to SunTrust Park when the Atlanta Braves host the Texas Rangers on Wednesday.

The Texas Rangers are still jockeying for position for the Wild Card and need a prolonged hot streak. The Rangers have now won back to back contests following Monday’s 8-2 win at the Atlanta Braves where both the arms and bats contributed. Texas starter Andrew Cashner evened his record at 9-9 with both runs given up on six hits and a pair of free passes over six innings pitched. The Rangers hammered out eleven hits and walked four times with Elvis Andrus and Nomar Mazara slamming solo homers while Rougned Odor went 2-3 with a homer, three RBI’s and two runs.  Miguel Gonzalez makes his first start for the Texas Rangers in an interleague matchup at the Atlanta Braves. Gonzalez comes off of a 5-4 loss (ND) at the Minnesota Twins with two runs allowed on seven hits and a pair of  BB in six frames.

Texas Rangers at Atlanta Braves Game 1 - 9/5/17 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Atlanta Braves have been struggling to get their pitching and hitting on the same page which has made winning difficult. The Braves have dropped eight of eleven following Tuesday night’s defeat at the hands of the playoff hopeful Texas Rangers. Bravos starter RA Dickey was charged with seven runs (six earned) on eight hits and a trio of bases on balls through 4.1 innings pitched to absorb the loss. The Atlanta attack consisted of eight hits and a pair of bases on balls with Matt Adams accounting for the offense with a two run bomb that scored Nick Markakis. The Atlanta Braves have called up left hander Luiz Gohara from the minors for his Major League debut in game two of their Wednesday doubleheader. Gohara has a career minor league record of 19-23 with a 3.73 ERA.

The over is 7-1 in Texas last 8 Wednesday  games and the over is 5-1-2 in Texas last 8 overall while the under is 7-2 in Texas last 9 interleague games. Atlanta are 3-9 in their last 12 home games and the under is 26-11-3 in Atlanta last 40 home games while Atlanta are 13-27 in their last 40 overall.

Gohara is the key here as a complete unknown and honestly the second game has an unknown lineup. My logic is the Rangers need this win badly and will field their starters so check lineups before betting...
