Out at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Dodgers will be continuing their MLB series.
In the Monday opener, the D-Backs scored four runs in the seventh on the way to a 13-0 blowout win.
USA TODAY Sports
In the Tuesday game, the Diamondbacks will be bringing out RHP Zack Greinke. In his 172.1 innings and 16-6 record this year, Greinke has a 3.08 ERA with 188 Ks and 39 BBs.
Arizona has some big bats this season. Paul Goldschmidt came into this series with 152 hits, 102 runs, 33 homers and 109 RBI while David Peralta had 134 hits, 72 runs, 13 homers and 45 RBI. Goldschmidt is having elbow issues; Peralta went 0-for-5.
Lefty Hyun-Jin Ryu will be taking the mound on Tuesday for the Dodgers. In his 111.2 innings and 5-7 record this year, Ryu has a 3.71 ERA with 102 Ks and 37 BBs.
LA has some big bats as well. Corey Seager came into this series with 142 hits, 75 runs, 19 homers and 65 RBI, while Chris Taylor had 131 hits, 74 runs, 19 homers and 66 RBI in that span. Seager is fighting off an elbow injury; Taylor went 0-for-4.
The Diamondbacks are 4-0 in their last four road games versus a left-handed starter and 4-0 in their last four during game two of a series. Arizona is also 14-6 in the last 20 Tuesday games and 35-16 in Greinke’s last 51 starts.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers are 42-18 in their last 60 during game two of a series and 37-16 in their last 53 Tuesday games. LA is also 6-1 in Ryu’s last seven starts and 5-1 in Ryu’s last six starts in game two of a series.
Greinke has been pretty solid over his last two starts, giving up just three earned on 11 hits in 12.2 innings. As for Ryu, he was good in Pittsburgh and Detroit but coughed up six earned on eight hits in 4.0 innings against the D-Backs his last time out. With that in mind, I like the Diamondbacks to get a victory here.
