For the Wednesday game, the Rangers are bringing out LHP Cole Hamels. In his 114.2 innings and 9-2 record this year, Hamels has a 3.92 ERA with 72 Ks and 39 BBs.
The Rangers have a few notable bats this year. Elvis Andrus leads the way with 165 hits, 89 runs, 19 homers and 77 RBI while Shin-Soo Choo has 123 hits, 84 runs, 18 homers and 65 RBI.
The Braves will be going with RHP Julio Teheran on Wednesday. In his 157.1 innings and 9-11 record this year, Teheran has a 4.75 ERA with 128 Ks and 57 BBs.
Atlanta has some key hitters as well. Ender Inciarte enters Wednesday on 175 hits, 83 runs, 10 homers and 50 RBI while Nick Markakis has 144 hits, 68 runs and 68 RBI.
The Rangers are 5-0 in their last five Wednesday games and 28-6 in Hamels’ last 34 starts versus a team with a losing record. Texas is also 46-17 in Hamels’ last 63 starts and 5-2 in Hamels’ last seven starts in game three of a series.
Meanwhile, the Braves are 3-7 in their last 10 Wednesday games and 3-10 in their last 13 during game three of a series. Atlanta is also 6-0 in Teheran’s last six starts with six days’ rest and 4-1 in Teheran’s last five Wednesday starts.
After giving up six earned in 4.1 innings in Oakland, Hamels calmed down a little bit sith four earned on five hits in 5.0 innings against the Angels. As for Teheran, he’s been solid over his last two starts with three earned on 10 hits in 14.0 innings. I like Teheran to keep it going here, and Hamels seems to be in a bit of a slide right now. I’ll take the Braves for the finale victory.
