The Chicago White Sox host the Cleveland Indians in the series finale’ in Thursday MLB baseball action.
The Cleveland Indians have been the hottest team in the Major League’s and that has extended their lead in the American League Central. The Indians haven't tasted defeat in over two weeks and their roll continued Wednesday in a 5-1 victory at the Chicago White Sox. Tribe starter Carlos Carrasco was at his very best with a complete game performance with a 9th inning homer allowed while he struck out nine. Cleveland totaled eight hits and seven walks with Carlos Santana going 3-4 with a homer, two RBI’s and two runs. The Cleveland Indians have scheduled Corey Kluber as Thursday’s starter versus the Chicago White Sox. Kluber has won consecutive contests after defeating the Detroit Tigers 5-2 on the road with a run plated on eight hits over eight innings of work.

The Chicago White Sox have not been racking up the wins but they have playing hard. The White Sox didn’t give an inch to the surging Indians as they trailed 1-0 until the bull pen imploded and allowed three runs in the 8th. Chicago starter Reynaldo Lopez allowed a run on six hits and pair of bases on balls through six innings before Gregory Infante, Danny Farquhar and Dylan Covey combined to allow four runs on two hits and five walks. The White Sox were limited to three hits and did not walk with Adam Engel slugging his 5th long ball in the 9th to avoid the shutout. Left hander Carlos Rodon is getting the starting assignment from the Chicago White Sox for Thursday’s matchup with the visiting Cleveland Indians. Rodon did not get a decision in a 5-4 win versus the Tampa Bay Rays with a run allowed in four frames.
