The Los Angeles Angels are one of the top challengers for the Wild Card which means the team has to win series going forward. The Angels were going for the series sweep of the Oakland Athletics but never found their offense in a 3-1 loss on Wednesday. Los Angeles starter Tyler Skaggs threw the ball well with all three runs allowed on six hits while striking out nine over six frames. The Angels attack consisted of five hits and a trio of bases on balls with Kole Calhoun going 2-4 with the only RBI with Andrelton Simmons scoring in the 8th while Mike Trout walked twice and CJ Cron posted two singles. Ricky Nolasco toes the rubber for the Los Angeles Angels in their series opener at the Seattle Mariners. Nolasco has posted three straight no decisions after a 7-4 win at the Texas Rangers where he was charged with three runs over 5.2 innings pitched.
