MLB baseball comes to Kauffman Stadium Saturday when the Kansas City Royals host the Minnesota Twins.
The Minnesota Twins are likely out of the American League Central race the way Cleveland is playing so the Wild Card is their focus. The Twins have been doing all they can with three straight wins after outscoring Kansas City 8-5 on Friday. Minnesota starter Ervin Santana improved to 15-7 with four runs given up on five hits and a walk over five frame with four relievers finishing the job. The Twins totaled ten hits and six walks with Eduardo Escobar going deep and scoring three while Eddie Rosario went 2-4 with a homer and four RBI’s followed by three player that scored and drove in runs. The Minnesota Twins have slated Jose Berrios as Saturday’s starter at the Kansas City Royals. Berrios struggled last time out in an 11-4 defeat at the Tampa Bay Rays where he was charged with five runs on seven hits and a walk over five innings of work.

The Kansas City Royals likely have one more opportunity at making a run in the Wild Card race. The Royals dug a deeper hole for their postseason drive with back to back defeats following Friday night’s defeat. KC starter Ian fell to 4-11 with three runs given up on four hits and three bases on balls through three innings while Trevor Cahill and Kelvin Herrera allowed a combined five runs. The Kansas City attack consisted of nine hits and a walk with Eric Hosmer clubbing his 24th long ball while Whit Merrifield knocked in two and scored. Right hander Jake Junis toes the rubber versus the visiting Minnesota Twins on Saturday. Junis comes in off of a 7-6 road victory versus the Detroit Tigers where he was charged with three runs on seven hits and zero walks over five innings pitched.
The under is 7-3 in Minnesota last 10 road games and Minnesota are 0-8 in Berrios' last 8 road starts while the under is 15-7-2 in Berrios' last 24 on grass. The under is 5-2-1 in Kansas City last 8 Saturday games. The over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings in Kansas City and the over is 11-4-2 in the last 17 meetings.
Berrios has been struggling so Kansas City might have an advantage on the mound but I like the way Minnesota is playing…
