For the Sunday game, the Angels will be bringing out RHP Parker Bridwell. In his 90.0 innings and 7-2 record this year, Bridwell has a 4.00 ERA with 59 Ks and 22 BBs.
The Angels have some solid bats this year. Andrelton Simmons came into the weekend with 147 hits, 72 runs, 14 homers and 64 RBI while Albert Pujols brought 127 hits, 48 runs, 21 homers and 94 RBI. Pujols logged two hits on Saturday; Simmons came up empty with a walk and a strikeout.
The Mariners will be bringing out RHP Erasmo Ramirez in the Sunday game. In his 107.2 innings and 5-5 record this year, Ramirez has a 4.35 ERA with 85 Ks and 26 BBs.
Seattle has some notable hitters as well. Robinson Cano brought 142 hits, 69 runs, 21 homers and 85 RBI into the weekend, while Jean Segura had 139 hits, 70 runs and 37 RBI in that span. In the Saturday game, Segura and Cano combined for four hits, three RBI and two runs.
The Angels are 1-4 in their last five during game three of a series and 7-0 in Bridwell’s last seven road starts. LA is also 5-0 in Bridwell’s last five Sunday starts and 10-1 in Bridwell’s last 11 starts.
Meanwhile, the Mariners are 1-4 in the last five Sunday games and 8-18 in Ramirez’s last 26 starts. Seattle is also 2-10 in Ramirez’s last 12 home starts and 1-5 in Ramirez’s last six Sunday starts.
It’s been a tough couple of starts for Bridwell, who has given up 13 earned on 13 hits in 6.0 innings over his last two outings. As for Ramirez, he’s got five straight quality starts under his belt, giving up just eight earned in that span. I like Ramirez to keep it going here so I’m taking the Mariners.
