Up at Citi Field on Monday, the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays will be kicking off their hurricane-relocated MLB series.
The Yankees are fresh off a weekend set against the Rangers. The two teams split the first pair of games, then on Sunday the Yankees took the series with a rousing 16-7 victory.

New York will be bringing out lefty CC Sabathia on Monday. In his 126.2 innings and 11-5 record this year, Sabathia has a 3.91 ERA with 99 Ks and 46 BBs.
The Yankees have a few interesting bats this year. Brett Gardner came out of the week with 135 hits, 86 runs, 20 homers and 54 RBI so far, while Didi Gregorius brought 134 hits, 63 runs, 21 homers and 68 RBI. Gardner finished with a triple, two runs and two RBI on Sunday; Gregorius had four hits and four RBI.
Over on the Rays’ side, they just finished up against the Red Sox. Tampa lost the first two games, then on Sunday the Rays stopped the sweep with a 4-1 victory.
Tampa is going with RHP Jake Odorizzi on Monday. In his 123.2 innings and 8-7 record this year, Odorizzi has a 4.58 ERA with 103 Ks and 53 BBs.
Tampa has a few noteworthy hitters as well. Corey Dickerson had 151 hits, 78 runs, 26 homers and 60 RBI while Evan Longoria managed 144 hits, 66 runs, 18 homers and 77 RBI. Longoria had a hit and an RBI on Sunday; Dickerson came up empty.
The Yankees are 6-2 in their last eight Monday games and 4-1 in their last five versus the AL East. The over is 4-0 in the Yankees’ last four versus the AL East and 5-2 in the Yankees’ last seven during game one of a series.
Meanwhile, the Rays are 5-1 in their last six during game one of a series and 6-18 in their last 24 Monday games. The over is 5-1 in the Rays’ last six during game one of a series and 27-12-7 in the Rays’ last 46 Monday games.
Sabathia had a nice run going with four earned over three starts, but stumbled in Baltimore a bit with five earned on eight hits in 5.1 innings. As for Odorizzi, he gave up six earned in the course of 8.2 innings over two starts, then came back with a win over the Twins on one hit and no earned over 6.2 innings. This is a tough one to call but due to the unpredictability of the Yankees offense I’m taking the Rays here.
