Out at Fenway Park on Tuesday, the Oakland Athletics and the Boston Red Sox will be kicking off their MLB series.
The A’s are coming off a weekend set against the Astros. Oakland won all four of those games and has won five in a row overall.
USA TODAY Sports
Oakland will be bringing out LHP Sean Manaea on Tuesday. In his 143.1 innings and 10-9 record this year, Manaea has a 4.33 ERA with 126 Ks and 50 BBs.
Oakland has a few notable bats this year. Ryon Healy leads the way on 140 hits, 61 runs, 24 homers and 74 RBI while Jed Lowrie is sitting on 138 hits, 76 runs, 12 homers and 52 RBI.
Over on the Red Sox’ side, they’re fresh off a series against Tampa Bay. Boston won the first two games by a combined 18-3 score, but lost on Sunday 4-1.
Boston will be bringing out LHP Eduardo Rodriguez on Tuesday. In his 116.1 innings and 4-5 record this year, Rodriguez has a 4.33 ERA with 126 Ks and 41 BBs.
Boston has some big hitters as well. Leading the way is Mookie Betts, with 148 hits, 88 runs, 19 homers and 81 RBI, while Andrew Benintendi is playing well on 139 hits, 73 runs, 19 homers and 79 RBI.
The A’s are 5-0 in their last five games overall and 5-11 in their last 16 games following an off day. Oakland is also 18-45 in their last 63 road games and 16-41 in their last 57 during game one of a series.
Meanwhile, the Red Sox are 23-5 in their last 28 Tuesday games and 4-1 in their last five overall. Boston is also 7-0 in Rodriguez’s last seven Tuesday starts and 4-1 in Rodriguez’s last five home starts.
Manaea has been pretty good lately, with quality starts in three of his last four outings. That includes 6.0 innings, five hits and no earned against the Angels in his last start. As for Rodriguez, he coughed up 10 earned in a span of 11.2 innings over two starts, but was good against the Blue Jays his last time out with two earned in 6.0 innings. I like Rodriguez to keep it going here and help the Red Sox get a win.
