Chicago Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals - 9/16/17 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The goal for the Chicago Cubs is to stay ahead of the Cardinals and Brewers for a few more weeks to capture the NL Central crown. The Cubs are breathing a bit easier following their series opening victory versus St. Louis stretched their lead over the Redbirds. Cubbies starter John Lackey did not receive a decision after allowing both runs on three hits and a pair of bases on balls through 4.2 innings of work but five relievers took care of business with scoreless baseball to finish off the Cards. Chicago logged eight hits and four walks with Kris Bryant going 3-4 with a homer, two RBI’s and two runs while Jon Jay, and Alex Avilia both driving in runs and scoring.  The Chicago Cubs hand the ball to Kyle Hendricks for the gam two start against the St. Louis Cardinals. Hendricks comes in off of a 3-1 loss to the visiting Milwaukee Brewers where he gave up all three runs on four hits and a pair of walks over six frames.

The under is 7-1 in St. Louis last 8 overall and the under is 7-1 in St. Louis last 8 on grass while the under is 14-6-1 in St. Louis last 21 Saturday games. Chicago are 7-2 in their last 9 Saturday games and Chicago are 12-4 in their last 16 home games while the under is 11-5 in Chicago last 16 Saturday games.

This isn’t a marque matchup on the mound so that makes predicting the winner tough so perhaps something on the over…
