Up at Comerica Park in Detroit on Saturday, the Chicago White Sox and the Detroit Tigers will be meeting up in MLB action.
In the Thursday opener, the White Sox secured a rousing 17-7 victory. On Friday, Detroit eked out a 3-2 win.

For the Saturday game, the Sox will be rolling out RHP Reynaldo Lopez. In his 28.1 innings and 1-3 record this year, Lopez has a 4.76 ERA with 22 Ks and 10 BBs.
Chicago has a few notable hitters this year. Jose Abreu entered Friday with 175 hits, 89 runs, 31 homers and 95 RBI while Avisail Garcia managed 155 hits, 67 runs, 17 homers and 77 RBI. Abreu had a hit and a run on Friday; Garcia had two hits.
Over on the Tigers’ side, they’re rolling with RHP Myles Jaye on Saturday. In his 9.1 innings and 1-1 record this year, Jaye has a 6.75 ERA with two Ks and four BBs.
Detroit has a few key hitters as well. Nick Castellanos came into Friday with 146 hits, 67 runs, 22 homers and 87 RBI while Ian Kinsler had 117 hits, 81 runs, 18 homers and 44 RBI. In the Friday game, Castellanos had a hit and an RBI; Kinsler went 0-for-3.
The White Sox are 20-41 in their last 61 during game three of a series and 2-7 in their last nine Saturday games. The under is 6-0-1 in the Sox’ last seven during game three of a series and Chicago is 8-19 in their last 27 games versus a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30.
Meanwhile, the Tigers are 1-6 in their last seven games versus a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30 and 0-4 in their last four game threes of a series. The under is 4-0 in the Tigers’ last four Saturday games and the over is 5-1 in the Tigers’ last six games versus a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30.
Lopez has been on a nice run after giving up six earned in 4.1 innings in Texas, posting seven earned in 18.0 innings over three starts since then. As for Jaye, he coughed up seven earned on seven hits in Cleveland over 3.2 innings in his first start of the year. I like Lopez to keep it going here, and if the White Sox offense shows up Chicago should get a win.
