The Line: Chicago White Sox / Los Angeles Angels --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Los Angeles Angels continue their visit with the Chicago White Sox in a Tuesday MLB matchup.
The Los Angeles Angels were once a top contender for the second Wild Card but the team has been slumping. The Angels have dropped seven of eight following Monday’s 4-2 loss at the White Sox where the offense and defense struggled. LAA starter Ricky Nolasco was charged with all four runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk over five frames to fall to 6-15. Los Angeles was limited to five hits and a pair of free passes with Mike Trout slugging his 30th homer while Andrelton Simmons scored on Martin Maldonado’s single. The Los Angeles Angels send right hander Parker Bridwell to the hill for his first career matchup with the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday. Bridwell comes in off of a 4-1 loss to the Cleveland Indians with all four runs allowed through 5.1 innings pitched.

The Chicago White Sox have been out of the postseason picture and have nothing to play for but to their credit the team has not given up and are still playing hard. The White Sox have won four of five following Monday night’s victory where outstanding pitching and a few clutch hits carried the day. Chicago starter James Shields improved to 5-7 with both runs given up on four hits and a pair of bases on balls through seven innings of work. The White Sox logged seven hits and walked twice with Nicky Delmonico going 2-4 with a run and a pair of RBI’s while Matt Davidson drove in a run and scored. The Chicago White Sox are sending Chris Volstad to the mound for his first start since the 2012 season. On the year Volstad has gone 1-0 with a 1.08 ERA covering eight innings of work.
Los Angeles are 18-7 in their last 25 Tuesday games and Los Angeles are 8-0 in Bridwell’s last 8 road starts while Los Angeles are 15-3 in Bridwell’s last 18 starts. Chicago are 1-10 in the last 11 Tuesday games. The under is 7-2-1 in the last 10 meetings and Los Angeles are 2-6 in the last 8 meetings in Chicago.
I’d be lying if I knew what to expect from Volstad who is really a forgotten name although I’m also seeing Carson Fulmer as a starter as well but I’m going with Chicago who is playing well…
