The Line: New York Yankees / Tampa Bay Rays --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
MLB comes to the Big Apple when the Tampa Bay Rays visit the New York Yankees on Monday.
The Tampa Bay Rays are looking for a hot finish to the 2017 season and head in to the next year with some momentum. The Rays took a step back from that goal on Sunday in a 9-4 defeat at the Baltimore Orioles where neither the arms or bats were able to carry the load. TB starter Chris Archer was charged with six runs (five earned) on eight hits and a BB through 3.2 frames to absorb the loss. Tampa Bay mustered ten hits and a walk with Kevin Kiermaier leaving the yard while Jesus Sucre homered and drove in two followed by Brad Miller with a run and RBI. The Tampa Bay Rays send Blake Snell to the hill in the series opener at the New York Yankees on Monday. Snell comes off of an 8-1 victory versus the Chicago Cubs with two hits and three bases on balls allowed through seven scoreless innings of work.

The New York Yankees are scratching and clawing for wins as the team continues to chase the Red Sox in the American League East. The Yankees blasted Kansas City 11-3 on Monday behind solid pitching and plenty of scoring. Yanks starter CC Sabathia came up big with all three runs given up on six hits including a pair of long balls through six innings of work to up his record to 13-5. New York amassed 15 hits and walked four times with Gary Sanchez going solo while Greg Bird smacked a two run bomb. The Bronx Bombers saw Aaron Judge club a pair of homers and drive in three followed by Didi Gegorius with a pair of RBI’s and a run. The New York Yankees have named Jordan Montgomery as Monday’s starter versus the visiting Tampa Bay Rays. Montgomery shoots for back to back wins after downing the Baltimore Orioles with four hits given up over six innings pitched.
Tampa Bay are 11-3 in their last 14 Tuesday games and Tampa Bay are 7-2 in Snell’s last 9 starts while Tampa Bay are 5-11 in Snell’s last 16 starts on grass. The over is 7-2 in New York last 9 home games and the over is 20-6 in New York last 26 games following a win while New York are 16-5 in their last 21 games on grass.
I believe Snell has thrown the ball well of late and has a small edge on the mound if Montgomery is starting for the Yanks but if Severino is going I’ll back New York…
