The Philadelphia Phillies enter the last series of the season playing well with both the arms and bats contributing. The Phillies have won three of four after a 7-5 victory versus the visiting Washington Nationals. Phils starter Mark Leiter struggled with all five runs allowed on eight hits and a trio of walks over 4.1 innings but five relievers tossed scoreless baseball to save the day. The Philadelphia offense totaled nine hits and walked seven times with Jorge Alfaro going 2-3 with two RBI’s while Aaron Altherr was 2-4 with two runs and a pair of runs driven in. The Philadelphia Phillies open their series versus the visiting New York Mets with Ben Lively on the mound. Lively hopes to rebound from a 7-2 loss at the Atlanta Braves where he was charged with six runs on eight hits and a pair of walks in five frames.
New York are 10-3 in their last 13 Friday games and New York are 5-16 in their last 21 road games while the over is 13-5 in New York last 18 road games. Philadelphia are 18-37 in their last 55 Friday games and Philadelphia are 4-9 in Lively’s last 13 starts while Philadelphia are 4-9 in Lively’s last 13 starts on grass. New York are 6-2 in Harvey’s last 8 starts versus Philadelphia and New York are 47-20 in the last 67 meetings.
I think Lively is the better option on the mound with Harvey having tremendous issues so perhaps something small on the Phillies…
