The Chicago Cubs didn’t start the season looking like the defending World Series winners but at the end of a long year the team has won the National League Central and will get a shot at a repeat. The Cubs come from behind win over visiting Cincinnati did keep the team hot with wins in five of six. Cubbies starter Jose Quintana was charged with four runs on six hits through 4.2 innings before four relievers putting up zeros. The Chicago attack consisted of nine hits and three walks with Ian Happ going 2-4 with a homer, knocking in three and scoring twice. The Chicago Cubs hand Saturday’s start against the visiting Cincinnati Reds to veteran left hander Jon Lester. Lester comes off of a 10-2 win at the St. Louis Cardinals with a run plated on five hits and a pair of walks over six innings pitched.
Cincinnati are 1-8 in their last 9 overall and Cincinnati are 1-8 in their last 9 games on grass while Cincinnati are 2-9 in their last 11 Saturday games. I can’t honestly say there is a good choice here with the Chicago being big chalk in a meaningless game while Cincinnati is just crumbling…
