For Saturday’s game, the Dodgers will be bringing out LHP Clayton Kershaw. In his 171.0 innings and 18-4 record this year, Kershaw has a 2.21 ERA with 200 Ks and 30 BBs.

LA has some solid hitters this season. Coming into this set, Corey Seager had 156 hits, 83 runs, 22 homers and 76 RBI while Chris Taylor had 145 hits, 85 runs, 21 homers and 70 RBI. On Friday, Seager went 0-for-3; Taylor is fighting off an injury.

Over on the Rockies’ side, they’re rolling with RHP German Marquez on Saturday. In his 156.0 innings and 11-7 record this year, Marquez has a 4.38 ERA with 145 Ks and 48 BBs.

Colorado has some big bats as well. Carlos Blackmon entered this series with 208 hits, 136 runs, 36 homers and 100 RBI while DJ LeMahieu had 187 hits, 95 runs and 64 RBI. Blackmon put up a homer, two hits and three RBI on Friday; LeMahieu had one hit.

The Dodgers are 45-22 in their last 67 during game two of a series and 1-5 in their last six Saturday games. LA is also 43-9 in Kershaw’s last 52 starts and 38-16 in Kershaw’s last 54 road starts.

Meanwhile, the Rockies are 6-1 in their last seven during game two of a series and 6-0 in Marquez’s last six starts in game two of a series. Colorado is also 9-1 in Marquez’s last 10 home starts and 17-8 in Marquez’s last 25 starts.

Kershaw has been kind of hit-and-miss lately. In two of his last four starts, he’s given up eight earned over 9.2 innings on 10 hits. In the other two, Kershaw has just two earned in 14.0 innings but 16 hits. As for Marquez, he coughed up four earned in 3.2 innings on 11 hits against Arizona, but since then has given up five earned over 11.0 innings on 13 hits in two starts. With Kershaw a bit unpredictable right now, and LA probably sleepwalking through this series with their eyes on the playoffs, this might be a reasonable place for the Rockies to bag a win.
