The Pittsburgh Pirates will be looking the year with a win at the Washington Nationals on Sunday. The Pirates received a big day on the mound and some late offense to upend the Nats 4-1 on Saturday. Pirates starter Jameson Taillon allowed the lone run on four hits and a walk over seven frames for a no decision. The Buccos offense mustered six hits and walked six times with all their runs scored in the 9th with Max Moroff smacking a three run triple while Sean Rodriguez drove in a run and scored twice. The Pittsburgh Pirates give Sunday’s last start of the year to Steven Brault who has never seen the Washington Nationals. Brault comes off of a 6-4 victory versus the visiting Milwaukee Brewers where he allowed a pair of runs on solo homers in five frames.

The Washington Nationals might have blown a late lead and lost on Saturday night but the team probably has an eye on the postseason. Nationals starter Max Scherzer tossed 3.1 scoreless innings before Enny Romero gave up four runs in the 9th to record a blown save and absorb the loss. The dangerous Washington offense was limited to only four hits and a base on balls with Ryan Zimmerman going 2-2 and singling in Daniel Murphy in the second. Left hander Gio Gonzalez toes the rubber for the Washington Nationals versus the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday afternoon. Gonzalez comes off of a 4-1 defeat at the Philadelphia Phillies with three runs plated on five hits and three BB over five frames.
