The New York Yankees and the Cleveland Indians take the field in game two of their ALDS in a Friday MLB matchup.
The New York Yankees fell behind early and never recovered in a 4-0 defeat at the Cleveland Indians in game one of their ALDS. The Yankees never found their offense and the pitching couldn’t win on their lonesome. New York starter Sonny Gray was charged with three runs on three hits and four bases on balls over 3.1 innings to absorb the loss. Adam Warren gave up a run but the relief corps gave the Yankees a chance to rally with a run allowed over 4.2 frames. The Yanks offense was held to three hits and three free passes with Starlin Castro going 2-4 while Aaron Hicks doubled. The New York Yankees have scheduled veteran left hander CC Sabathia for Friday’s start in the second game of the ALDS. Sabathia has gone 14-6 with a 3.69 ERA over 27 starts.

The Cleveland Indians were red hot over the second half of the season and carried that momentum in to the ALDS. The Indians didn’t put up the crooked number offensively but didn’t need to with the outstanding performance on the mound. Tribe starter Trevor Bauer allowed two hits and a walk while striking out eight through 6.2 innings pitched to pickup the victory. The Cleveland offense did their damage on five hits and six walks with Jay Bruce going 2-3 with a homer, three runs knocked in and two scored. Corey Kluber toes the rubber versus the New York Yankees in game two of the ALDS on Friday. Kluber has built a 16-4 record in 2017 with a 2.25 ERA covering 29 starts.
New York are 20-6 in their last 26 games on grass and New York are 2-6 in their last 8 playoff road games and the over is 11-4-2 in New York last 17 playoff road games. Cleveland are 42-9 in their last 51 overall and Cleveland are 42-11 in their last 53 games on grass and under is 11-3 in Cleveland last 14 playoff games.
Kluber is enjoying a Cy Young type season and I believe he continues to impress with the big offense backing him up…
