The Line: Arizona Diamondbacks / Los Angeles Dodgers --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks meet Monday night in game three of the NLDS at Chase Field.
The Los Angeles Dodgers can advance to their second straight NLCS with a road victory here. The Dodgers are really flexing their muscle defensively, as they’ve combined for 17 runs and 24 hits in this series. Yasiel Puig and Justin Turner have combined for nine hits and nine RBI while Logan Forsythe has four hits. The Dodgers have now won 10 straight games when scoring more than one run. The Los Angeles Dodgers are going to be tough to beat as long as the lineup from top to bottom continues to produce like it has in this series. Yu Darvish gets the ball, and he was 10-12 with a 3.86 ERA and 209 strikeouts this season. Darvish is 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA and 11 strikeouts in his postseason career.

The Arizona Diamondbacks need a victory here in order to force a game four on Tuesday. The Diamondbacks offense has produced 10 runs in this series, but it’s tough to win games when the pitching staff is getting rocked at every turn. Arizona has allowed a combined 25 runs in three playoff games and has allowed six or more runs in eight of their last 14 games overall. Offensively, Ketel Marte and Jake Lamb have combined for 12 hits and two RBI while J.D. Martinez has four hits. The Arizona Diamondbacks need their pitching staff to step up in order to have any chance of climbing back into this series. Zack Greinke gets the ball, and he was 17-7 with a 3.20 ERA and 215 strikeouts this season. Greinke is 3-3 with a 3.92 ERA and 55 strikeouts in his postseason career.
The Dodgers are 19-7 in their last 26 games following an off day, 4-0 in their last 4 Divisional Playoff games and 5-13 in their last 18 playoff road games. The Diamondbacks are 4-0 in their last 4 Divisional Playoff home games, 21-6 in Greinkes last 27 home starts and 35-16 in Greinkes last 51 starts. The Dodgers are 3-7 in the last 10 meetings in Arizona and the over is 7-2 in the last 9 meetings.
The Dodgers are looking scary right now and it's probably not wise to bet against them in their current form. However, the Diamondbacks have done enough offensively to be in this series, they just need a solid performance from one of their pitchers. Well, Greinke has a 2.86 ERA at home this season and a 13-1 record. He wasn't great in the wild card game, but he's allowed two or less runs in five of his last seven games and has allowed just two runs and eight hits in his last 13 innings against these Dodgers. Darvish has been money in each of his last three starts and has been better on the road than at home this season, but this is a tough Diamondbacks squad that's not going to go down lightly at home with their ace on the mound. I'll back Arizona in game three.
